Fairfax Grange: A New Roof to Shelter Our Legacy
In the heart of Bakersfield, where tradition and community converge, the historic Fairfax Grange 570 has stood the test of time. In keeping with our commitment to preserve and improve this cherished venue, we are thrilled to announce the completion of a major renovation project: a brand new roof to protect and enhance our Grange.
Our journey began with the selection of Value Roofing, a local contractor renowned for their craftsmanship and dedication. They embarked on an extensive eight-day roofing project that not only replaced the old, weathered shingles but also reinforced the integrity of our structure.
The expertise of Value Roofing’s team was evident as they meticulously removed layers of the past, uncovering and repairing wood that told stories of decades gone by. With precision, they installed a layer of half-inch insulation, paving the way for the crown jewel of the renovation: heat reflective shingles. These state-of-the-art materials promise to offer not just protection from the elements but also increased energy efficiency for the Grange.
As a licensed drone pilot and a steward of the Grange’s history, I captured the transformation from above, providing a bird’s-eye view of the progress. The aerial stills are a testament to the skill and hard work that went into every step of the process. These images, along with a forthcoming YouTube video, offer a unique perspective on how modern technology can aid in the preservation of our history.
The completion of the roof was impeccably timed, concluding just before the onset of a December rainy spell, ensuring that our Winter Wonderland Dance and other cherished events remained cozy and dry. This upgrade is more than a renovation; it’s a reaffirmation of our commitment to providing a welcoming and well-maintained gathering place for the Bakersfield community.
We invite you to visit Fairfax Grange 570 to experience the fusion of history and progress first-hand. For those interested in hosting events here, the Grange now boasts a roof that not only shelters but also reflects the vibrant spirit of the events it covers.
The Fairfax Grange 570 is not just a venue; it’s a living piece of Bakersfield’s legacy, continuously evolving to meet the future.
